Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators, like Botox® and Dysport®, inhibit the ability of muscles to contract and are therefore wrinkle relaxers. Once injected, peak effect is usually in 10 to 20 days. The duration of the effect ranges from 2 to 6 months, depending on the dose and an individual’s metabolic rate. Repeat maintenance every 4 months is recommended and may be complemented by other treatments to smooth out deeper lines.

Treatment areas include the frown and forehead lines, crows feet, “bunny lines” (wrinkled nose), dimpled chin, nose tip, platysmal bands and necklace lines, décolleté, shoulders, calves and more. It can also be used therapeutically for migraines, excessive sweating, musculoskeletal injuries and scar tissue.

There is little to no downtime with this procedure, and you can resume normal activities immediately.

Hyaluronic acid gel

Hyaluronic acid  has been used to help restore volume loss in the face and body since 1996. It is not an acid but rather a clear gel made of repeating sugars which mimic the body’s own hyaluronic acid.  After the application of topical anesthetic, the gel is injected most commonly with a cosmetic cannula.  The procedure is relatively painless and can be done within 30 minutes.

All areas of the face can be targeted depending on the treatment plan, formulated by the patient and their experienced physician injector.

On average, women start losing the equivalent of 0.5 to one syringe (1mL) of facial volume per year around the age of 30, and men start to see an equivalent rate of volume loss around the age of 40.

The key to using these products is to minimize the amount of volume utilized so as to ensure a natural result. The duration of the product depends on the volume and the area injected, however, on average the results can be expected to last 12 to 18 months. Once your desired endpoint is attained, a maintenance program of 1-3 syringes per year is usually adequate to keep you looking refreshed.  Special pricing can be discussed for larger volume rejuvenation procedures.

More details can be provided with a comprehensive consultation.

Body shaping

Injectable treatments for body shaping provide a much faster, more comfortable, and permanent result when compared to energy based devices.

Compounded lipodissolve injectable treatments can target all areas of the face and body. Depending on the volume of unwanted fat, it can take 3-10 treatments spaced a month apart to achieve the desired end point.

Augmenting areas such as the buttocks can also be performed with injectable products such as Hyaluronic acid gels and/or biostimulator products.

We would be happy to discuss these options in a scheduled consultation.

Mesotherapies

Mesotherapy (from the Greek mesos “middle”) involves injectable treatments that target the middle layer of the skin (between the epidermis and dermis) so as to infuse the skin with vitamins, minerals and other elements such as non cross-linked hyaluronic acid in order to hydrate and rejuvenate, creating a more refreshed look to the skin. One example is NCTF® BOOST 135HA which has 59 ingredients to revitalize the skin.

Mesotherapy utilizes a micro needling technique to deliver nutrients to the skin and can also be blended with longer lasting cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel for skin requiring greater hydration and diffuse volume enhancement.

Biostimulators

There are two biostimulator injectable products available in Canada: Sculptra® and Radiesse®.

Sculptra® is the powder form of poly L lactic acid (PLLA), which is the ingredient of dissolving stitches. When mixed with water and lidocaine, it can be injected into volume deficient areas. It subsequently causes a low grade inflammatory reaction which stimulates the body’s wound healing mechanism to start making collagen.

Results take 1-6 months post procedure to fully develop.

1 vial of Sculptra® translates to the equivalent of 1-3 syringes of filler and the duration of effect can be up to 2 years or longer. Sculptra® is ideal for significant volume loss areas but is not for more sensitive areas such as tear troughs or lips.

Radiesse® is a product composed of calcium microspheres (calcium hydroxylapatite) which when injected does not cause an inflammatory reaction but rather acts as a cellular scaffold upon which fibroblasts and other regenerative cells become activated. It is ideal for defined jawlines and also when diluted can be used to provide a tightening and smoothing effect in the neck, décolleté, the hands and also areas of cellulite.

An immediate effect is seen and can last up to 3 years or longer.

Ultrasound Mapping and Guidance

Using handheld Ultrasound enables Dr. Brock to have a clear view of an individual’s anatomy beneath the skin showing filler, fatty tissue, bone, muscle, connective tissue and vascular structures. This is highly beneficial as it allows him to visualize and map out vascular structures to improve safety and accuracy when placing the appropriate substance in the desired area. Ultrasound is also used to assess and dissolve undesired filler or fat.
